Good news for a great person – Eileen Stuart named VP of Public Affairs for Mosaic

The Mosaic Company, one of the world’s leading producers agricultural nutrients, announced Eileen Stuart will assume the role of Vice President, Public Affairs – Phosphates.

Mosaic is the Polk County-based phosphate fertilizer mining and manufacturing firm and the world’s largest combined producer and marketer of concentrated phosphate and potash.

Stuart will oversee all internal and external communications for Mosaic. She will also be in charge of community engagement and investments, public policy and government affairs throughout Central Florida and Louisiana.

Stuart will play a crucial part in the company’s Phosphate Business Unit leadership team, led by Gary “Bo” Davis, Senior Vice President of Phosphate Operations. She will report to Mark Kaplan, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs.

The move is effective April 13.

“I am delighted to lead Mosaic’s exceptional phosphate public affairs team,” Stuart said in a statement. “We are committed to improving the Central Florida and Louisiana communities where we operate, and I look forward to creating and growing long-lasting relationships with our key stakeholders there.”

The University of Florida graduate has worked for Mosaic since 2009; and since 2011, she has led the company’s Florida government affairs and public policy efforts in Tallahassee.

Previously, Stuart worked in the Governor’s office, the Florida Senate and the state Public Service Commission. Her law degree is from Florida State University.

“This is an important time for Mosaic’s reputation and advocacy in Florida and Louisiana,” Kaplan said. “I have every confidence that Eileen’s experience and skills will allow us build on our successes and position the business well for the years ahead.”
