On Monday, Gov. Rick Scott takes a one-day victory lap around the state to celebrate more than $400 million in tax cuts going back to citizens.

Scott will visit seven Florida cities on a 12-hour “KEEP FLORIDA WORKING” Tax Cut Victory Tour, a recently signed $428.9-million tax-cut bill presented in the newly passed $79 billion state budget.

The Republican governor will focus on how the tax cuts will save Florida families money on cell phone, cable and satellite TV bills.

Events include a stop Miami for 10:30 a.m. at Sergio’s Restaurant, 1640 NW 87th Ave., in Miami. Later, Scott will be in St. Petersburg for a 2:15 p.m. visit to the CI Group, 12115 28th Street North.

Highlights of the tax cut plan include a drop in taxes charged on cell phone and cable television services. The current rate of 6.65 percent rate will now be 4.92 percent, or about $20 a year on a $100 monthly – about half of the $40 annual cut Scott initially proposed.

The full schedule starts with a visit to Fort Myers, 8:30 a.m. at D3 Glass, 17132 Alico Center Road. At 10:30 a.m., he will be at Sergio’s Restaurant, 1640 NW 87th Ave. in Miami. Then, at 12:15 p.m., Scott will be at Hoffman’s Chocolates Factory, 5190 Lake Worth Rd. in Greenacres. At 2:10 p.m., he moves to St. Petersburg for a visit to the CI Group, 12115 28th Street North.

By 4:15 p.m., Scott will be at Main Street Mowers, 12403 West Colonial Drive in Winter Garden, followed by a 6:10 p.m. stop at Mudville Grille, 1301 Monument Road in Jacksonville. Scott finishes the tour at 7:15 PM (CDT) at The Apple Market, 1021 Scenic Highway in Pensacola.
