Gov. Rick Scott, who attended state Rep. Richard Corcoran‘s designation ceremony Wednesday, took time for a few questions afterward.

On Corcoran’s proposed 12-year term limit for Florida judges: “When I see all the things that are proposed by the House and the Senate, I’ll be glad to review them.”

On funding for the state’s economic incentive programs: “I’m going to continue to work for more money, to make sure we can continue to get the big wins we’ve had.

“Just in the last 10 days, Blue Origin is bringing 330 jobs to Brevard. We’ve had Embraer add another 150. Boeing added another 550. That shows you what’s happening. None of those projects would have happened but for putting money into economic development.”

On special interests influencing elections and legislation: “What I plan on doing is continuing to work every day to have the best government because we are the best state in the nation. I will continue to work with the House and the Senate to make sure we do the right thing.”

On Corcoran’s call for a ban on lawmakers working for companies that take state money (Critics were concerned it would prevent teachers, police officers and firefighters, for a few examples, from seeking office): “When I see it, I’ll review it.”
