Monday is the last day to register to vote before Florida’s Aug. 30 primary election.

Floridians who want to switch their party affiliation for the primary also must act by the deadline.

There are contested primary races for the U.S. Senate on both the Republican and Democratic sides. There are also several contentious races for Congress and the Florida Legislature that will be decided in the primary.

Voters who are registered as independents must change their party affiliation in order to vote in the primary.

Voters who are unsure of their registration status can use the lookup tool on the state election website at http://dos.myflorida.com/elections.

They also can contact their local Supervisor of Elections office or contact the Division’s main Voter Assistance Hotline at: 1.866.308.6739.

Voter registration applications sent by mail and postmarked by August 1 will be accepted.
