Hillary Clinton

A new television commercial being launched today in Florida and six other states portrays Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as someone who’s fought to protect children all her career.

The 30-second spot, “Children,” is part of Hillary for America’s ongoing ad buy in battleground states such as Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Nevada, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.

This commercial uses short clips of Clinton throughout her career, as a young 1970s activist, first lady of Arkansas, first lady of the United States, U.S. Senator candidate, and presidential candidate, seemingly giving the same speech, declaring her desire to fight to protect and provide for children. It ends with contemporary Clinton declaring, “I’ve always approved this message.”

The ad comes a week after Republican Donald Trump surprised many – particularly conservatives – by rolling out his proposals for children that include tax breaks for child care expenses.

It also comes out as Clinton prepares to give a speech Wednesday in Orlando that reportedly will focus on children and families, at the Frontline Outreach Youth and Family Center.
