Get your checkbooks ready this week for several political fundraisers

time to give

Whip out the checkbooks, Tallahassee lobbyists and PAC chairs, as a new week begins with a handful of legislators’ re-election fundraisers.

State law prohibits legislators from raising money during session, so every week leading up to the 2015 Session will offer a number of fundraising receptions.

Many of them are mere steps from the Florida Capitol.

The week begins with a Monday afternoon event supporting the House District 57 re-election effort for Republican state Rep. Jake Raburn. Event begins 5 p.m. at the Beer Industry of Florida headquarters, 110 S. Monroe St., Suite B in Tallahassee.

On Tuesday, the fundraising schedule heats up with three Governors Club events and one at the Governors Inn, starting at 5 p.m. with a joint reception for Republican state Reps. Dan Raulerson of District 58, David Santiago of District 27 and Ross Spano of District 59. The joint reception begins 5 p.m. at the Governors Club Private Dining Room, 202 ½ S. Adams St. in Tallahassee.
