George Zimmerman, the Muslim-free gun shop, and Rebel flags

The performance art project that the life of George Zimmerman turned into some time ago continues, with a new collaboration with the “Muslim-free” Inverness business Florida Gun Supply.

As The Washington Times reported Tuesday, Zimmerman is now selling signed and numbered prints of the Confederate “Stars and Bars” flag.

These prints are captioned with the cheery message: “The 2nd protects the 1st.”

“The caption, ‘the 2nd protects the first’ is a double entendre,” Zimmerman said. “The first flag I painted on this canvas was an American Flag, but decided to repaint over it with the Confederate Flag when I heard (store owner) Andy (Hallinan) was getting sued by CAIR. The 2nd flag I painted was the Battle Flag — which we need in America in order to protect the first.”

Those who purchase prints may be doubly blessed, as a select “winner” will get the original “painting.”

This is not Zimmerman’s first foray into the art hustle. Zimmerman’s painting of State Attorney Angela Corey sold for six figures.

That painting got a second news cycle when The Associated Press objected to it being based on one of their photographs.
