State Rep. Chris Latvala is proud to announce the start of his House District 67 re-election with a significant endorsement from the Pinellas Realtor Organization.

Latvala, son of longtime Republican state Sen. Jack Latvala, is running for his second term representing the people of Clearwater, Largo and Pinellas Park.

“Based on your past service and various other criteria,” said Pinellas Realtors Chair Mindy Rovillo in a letter dated May 3, “I am pleased to report that our Board of Directors has voted to officially support your campaign.

“We appreciate your commitment to the community, understanding of economic issues, and your advocacy for property owners and the real estate industry,” Rovillo continued.

Along with the endorsement, the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC) will be making a donation, up to the $1,000 maximum. In addition, the Board encourages the Organization’s associates to support Latvala’s campaign.

With over 7,000 members, the Pinellas Realtor Organization is one of the Tampa Bay region’s largest and most politically active professional trade associations. It was established in 2002 with the merger of the St. Petersburg Suncoast and the Greater Clearwater Associations of Realtors.

Although the incumbent Republican lawmaker is currently unopposed in the HD 67 Republican primary, Latvala does face a general election challenge from Democrat David Vogel.

The text of the endorsement is below:
