New digital ad attacks Marco Rubio for backing Donald Trump, even after #TrumpTapes

A new video released in Florida links Marco Rubio to the furor surrounding Donald Trump’s recently uncovered video with him making vulgar comments about a married woman he wanted to seduce.

The 30-second spot, produced by the progressive group MoveOn.org PAC, blasts Rubio for his continued support of Trump after 16 months of the Republican Party nominee continuously displaying indefensible behavior.

MoveOn.org says the ad is targeted through social media at conservative Christian women likely to vote in Florida, urging them to “reject Rubio/Trump” and elect Democratic candidates Patrick Murphy for Senate and Hillary Clinton for the presidency.

The ad features a recently leaked tape by The Washington Post which shows Trump “discussing sexually assaulting women,” saying he “doesn’t wait” for consent, which MoveOn.org says builds on the “misogynistic, racist, and hateful campaign Trump has run.”

“After more than a year of his unacceptable and indefensible remarks and behavior, Marco Rubio and other Republican leaders continue to set aside their morals and stand beside Trump, enabling his campaign of bigotry, hatred and sexism,” MoveOn.org Political Action Executive Director Ilya Sheyman said in a statement. “Enough is enough. Rubio and the GOP have continued to stand behind Trump after he relentlessly attacked women, veterans, Gold Star families, immigrants, people of color, people with disabilities and other communities. Anything that Rubio and other Republican leaders who backed Trump say now is too little, too late. Americans will reject Trump, and those who’ve stood with him, on Nov. 8.”

The ad is available on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
