At statewide “Don’t Boo, Vote” events, student leaders will denounce Donald Trump and encourage voting

Vote

A host of events taking place on Halloween, titled “Don’t Boo, Vote” after President Barack Obama‘s recent election-year refrain, will take place at colleges across the state and energize students against Donald Trump.

The event invites participants to imagine “the scariest ending to a Halloween story imaginable: a Donald Trump presidency.” Part of the For Florida’s Future “Shuttle Together” program which aims to bus students en masse to the early voting polls, the event will be a themed one that invites students to dress in Halloween costumes while doing so.

At every event, student leaders will speak and denounce Trump, for the “litany of offensive comments he has made during this election against Latinos, the disabled, African Americans and women, before shuttling themselves and their peers to polling places.”

“Embracing the spirit of the holiday, students will be dressing in costumes, partaking in Halloween treats and encouraging their fellow students not to get tricked into electing a historically unqualified candidate to the most powerful office in the world.”
