Florida Medical Association PAC (again) endorses Paul Renner

Republican Paul Renner once again received the endorsement of the Florida Medical Association PAC (FMA PAC), this time in his bid for House District 24.

“From his military service to prosecuting serious felons as a former lead trial attorney, Paul Renner has demonstrated his commitment to public service,” said FMA PAC President Dr. Ralph Nobo in a statement. “We know he will be a strong advocate for our organization and its more than 20,000 physicians.”

FMA PAC also endorsed Renner, a Jacksonville native, earlier this year in his GOP primary bid for House District 15, where he lost to Jay Fant in August by just two votes.

In thanking the FMA for their “continued support,” Renner said it is important to “work together to ensure all Floridians have access to quality health care with a clear understanding that the best way to achieve that goal is putting control in the hands of patients and their doctors, not more government interference.”

Republican State Rep. Travis Hutson vacated the District 24 seat to run in the special election for Senate District 6.

Renner faces Republicans Sheamus McNeeley, Ron Sanchez and Danielle Anderson in the primary set for Jan. 27. The winner will face Democrat Adam Morley on April 7. District 24 includes Flagler and parts of St. Johns and Volusia Counties.
