Gov. Scott

In what could be his final judicial namings as Governor, Rick Scott announced appointments Friday to the 7th and 9th Circuit and Orange County courts.

He appointed Bryan Rendzio as circuit judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit, which includes Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties. Rendzio, 43, of Ponte Vedra Beach, is a shareholder of Florida Business and Construction Law Group.

He received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. Rendzio fills the vacancy created by the death of Judge Clyde Wolfe.

Denise Beamer was named circuit judge to the 9th Judicial Circuit, which includes Orange and Osceola counties.

Beamer, 36, of Maitland, is a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her law degree from Barry University School of Law.

Beamer fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Kim Shepard.

Carly Wish was appointed a county judge for Orange County.

Wish, 42, of Orlando, is a staff attorney at the 9th Circuit. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tampa and her law degree from Barry University School of Law.

Wish fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Jamie Grosshans to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeal.

The term-limited Scott, a Naples Republican, defeated Democrat Bill Nelson last year to become the state’s next U.S. Senator, joining fellow Republican Marco Rubio in Washington.

A source in the Governor’s Office late Friday said Scott may name as many as two more judges over the weekend, but also said Friday’s appointments could be his last.

The governor also announced the reappointment and appointment of Judges of Compensation Claims, who resolve disputed workers’ compensation claims. They include:

Ray Holley, 49, of Jacksonville, reappointed for the Jacksonville District.

Ralph Humphries, 66, of Jacksonville, reappointed for the Jacksonville District.

— Nolan Winn, 65, of Gulf Breeze, reappointed for the Pensacola District.

— Rita Lawton Young, 59, of St. Petersburg, appointed for the Tampa District.

— Michael Ring, 59, of Lighthouse Point, appointed for the Fort Lauderdale District.
