Florida House Victory re-launches website

Democrats promise portal to connect with state representatives.

Need a place to keep up with Anna Eskamani’s Persian New Year parties, Matt Willhite’s Alzheimer’s advocacy and Margaret Good’s careful clock-keeping?

A major update to the Florida House Victory website provides a new information hub connecting users to Democratic state representatives. That includes links to official social media and websites.

“We wanted to create a hub for information on all things House Democrat to better connect everyday Floridians to their State Representative,” reads a Victory Fund release.

Of course, the website is more than just a place to keep up with Twitter-worthy wit. The modernized site seeks to connect supporters of Democratic policies with candidates running for office.

To get a jump on elections that may not even be scheduled yet, a Special Elections page is devoted to candidates who will appear on the ballot before 2020.

That website hopes to capture more lightning in a bottle, like Good’s surprise success in a special election in February 2018.

As the general election next year nears, this portal will serve as a connection point for supporters across the state to connect with Democratic House candidates.

“Additionally, we created a way for concerned citizens and activists to find out what’s going on in Tallahassee and what the House Democrats are doing,” the release said.

The site also has a way for users to sign up for alerts on activities happening in Tallahassee during the Legislative Session, and a redesigned News page for those who prefer to bookmark that and constantly check for fresh posts.

Will the website be enough to deliver a Democratic majority in the state House for the first time since the 1990s? That remains to be seen, but party leaders hope it catapults organizing ability forward.

“We’re looking forward to using all these new tools to better connect with the Floridians we serve and to spread all of the great things that the House Democrats do!” the release concludes.
