Steve Schale talks Joe Biden, #BusyBeeCaucus on new He Said She Said

The self-professed #FloridaMan makes a visit.

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s bid for president is very popular among Florida Democrats.

But listeners to the latest episode of the “He Said She Said” podcast — featuring Democrat Steve Schale, a self-professed veteran #FloridaMan politico and a mega-fan of “boss” Biden — already knew that.

Biden, the longtime U.S. Senator who served eight years as Barack Obama’s VP, made an early show of force by securing the endorsements of 23 of the Florida Legislature’s 64 Democrats.

The list, first reported by POLITICO, includes House members Joe Geller, Richard Stark, Susan Valdes, Matt Willhite, Michael Gottlieb, Wengay Newton, Amy Mercado, Shevrin Jones, Mike Grieco, Javier Fernández, Clovis Watson, Nicholas Duran, Tina Polsky, Ramon Alexander, Barbara Watson, Joe Casello, Tracie Davis, John Cortes and David Silvers.

And from the Senate: Democrats Gary Farmer, Kevin Rader, Victor Torres, and Perry Thurston.

Schale, the founder of the 2016 Draft Joe Biden for President movement, talked with hosts Michelle Todd and Peter Schorsch about the VP’s authenticity, and how President Donald Trump — notoriously thin-skinned — will react.

Despite becoming the newest entry in the 2020 presidential race, Biden immediately shot up to front-runner status.

Schale also talked of the need for Democrats to stay united, for the best chance to defeat Trump in 2020.

Another hot topic for Schale — the legendary #BusyBeeCaucus, named after an I-10 truck stop in Live Oak, about an hour outside of Schale’s home.

During the 2014 caucus, Schale noticed a new truck stop called the Busy Bee. He described stopping in, and how it changed his life. Schale began telling everyone to stop by, and the #BusyBeeCaucus, a community of Florida politicos and other fans, was born.

Taking advantage of cult status, the #BusyBeeCaucus now has its own Twitter account as well as T-shirts and other swag.
