Young Floridians for Opportunity and the Pinellas County Young Republicans will celebrate U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis at their sixth annual Statesman of the Year Award Dinner next month.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Feather Sound Country Club. Tickets to the dinner are available on the Young Floridians for Opportunity website.

Prices range from $100 for a “justice sponsor” ticket to $5,000 for a “presenting sponsor” package.

Bilirakis has held his Congressional District 12 seat in north Pinellas County since 2007 and recently took the No. 18 spot on Florida Politics’ list of Tampa Bay’s Most Powerful Politicians.

Before Bilirakis was elected, his father represented CD 12. Between the two, there has been a Bilirakis representing the district for more than three decades.

Bilirakis joins an elite list of Pinellas County Republicans who have been honored with a Statesman of the Year award. In 2018, the recipient was Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.

Earlier recipients include state Rep. Chris Sprowls, former Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, former U.S. Rep. David Jolly, and state Sen. Jeff Brandes.

The event invite is below.
