Donald Trump senior campaign advisers to headline Latinos for Trump event in Miami
More voters are warming up to the idea of impeachment.

Mercedes Schlapp and John Pence will headline the event at the Miami Marriott Dadeland.

Mercedes Schlapp and John Pence, both senior advisers to the Donald Trump campaign for reelection, will headline a Monday event in Miami just before Trump himself makes a stop in the Sunshine State.

Trump will be appearing in Sunrise on Tuesday. But the day before, Schlapp and Pence will appear at the Miami Marriott Dadeland for a Latinos for Trump “special event,” according to a release sent out by Latinos for Trump, a group co-chaired by Lt. Gov. Jeanette Núñez.

The event will take place at the Marriott’s Datran Ballroom and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Schlapp formerly worked in the White House communications office before shifting roles and taking a position with the Trump reelection campaign. Her husband, Matt Schlapp, has long been involved in conservative politics, even appearing in the so-called “Brooks Brothers riot” in Miami-Dade to protest the recount following the 2000 election.

Pence, meanwhile, is the nephew of Vice President Mike Pence. He also worked at the New York headquarters of Trump’s 2016 campaign, which earned Trump the presidency.

Trump is slated to make multiple appearances in South Florida in the coming weeks. Those stops come shortly after it was announced Trump would be moving his primary residency to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach. He and his wife, Melania, are now also registered Florida voters.

Trump’s Tuesday event is part of his “Keep America Great” tour. He’ll be speaking to supporters at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, which is home to the Florida Panthers.

Then, on Dec. 7, Trump will be the special guest at the Republican Party of Florida‘s Statesman Dinner.

That event was originally scheduled to be in Orlando. But a last-minute scrapping of the original plans ended with a shift to Miami. That dinner, however, will be closed to the press.

The Trump 2020 campaign has also begun placing radio ads in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Those ads are target the black community as Trump seeks to repeat his 2016 victory in Florida.
