Lobbying firm Bryant Miller Olive is welcoming back Randy Hanna after three years as Chancellor of the Florida College System.

Bryant Miller Olive specializes in public finance, higher education, local government, litigation, public-private partnerships and labor and employment law.

After serving as managing shareholder from 1998 until 2011, Hanna left the firm to serve as Chancellor of a system of 28 colleges and more than 800,000 students. During his time as Chancellor, Florida colleges developed student success initiatives and boosted collaboration between state colleges and both the K-12 and the state university systems.

Hanna will continue to teach at the university level, and act as a consultant for higher education institutions and organizations.

“Randy grew Bryant Miller Olive from a small firm to one that is recognized throughout the southeast,” said managing shareholder Grace Dunlap. “Randy emphasized the importance of maintaining out firm’s team-oriented and diverse culture.

“It is a joy to ring in the New Year by welcoming Randy back with his many years of history here. His expertise will help us grow both our legislative and governmental affairs practice and our national practice in higher education and transportation.”

In addition to working with state and local governmental relations and public finance, the firm also represented the U.S. Department of Education in financings for colleges and universities and the U.S. Department of Transportation in financing major infrastructure improvements.

Bryant Miller Olive has offices in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.

“Leading the Florida College System has been a great professional experience and I am appreciative of the Commissioner of Education, the State Board and the Governor for the opportunity to serve,” Hanna said of his return.

Hanna has played a significant role in local and state economic development activities, and named chair of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. Among his awards is the Florida State University recipient of its 2014 “Grad Made Good” award and Leader of the Year for the Tallahassee area by Leadership Tallahassee.
