Interest is mounting in Gov. Rick Scott‘s new healthcare commission.

Sen. Eleanor Sobel is the latest to publicly announce her desire to serve on the commission and sent a press release announcing she is requesting Scott place her on the commission. The release notes with Sobel “you get a broad range of knowledge and experience dealing with healthcare issues.”

Sobel is the vice chair of the Senate healthcare policy committee and serves on the health care spending committee. Sobel said in the release she was “heartened” that Scott met with Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell.

A variety of special interests who want to serve on the committee. Sobel is the third state Senator who has shown a desire to serve. Sen Alan Hays and Rene Garcia are the others.
