President Barack Obama has commuted the sentences of 11 people serving time in Florida on drug-related charges, including six from South Florida.
A statement from the White House says Henry Agnew of Miami; Marvin Bailey of Hollywood; Carmel Bretous of Miami; Andrew Holzendorf of South Bay; Wayne Parker of Miami; and Jeffrey Sapp of Fort Lauderdale, were granted commutations of their sentences on Wednesday.
All of them, except Bailey, are scheduled to be released on July 28. Bailey is expected to be released from prison in March 2017.
The other Florida prisoners are Willie Cameron of Panama City Beach; Dexter Dickens of Panama City; Robert Lane of Bradenton; Anthony Lewis of Tampa; and Melissa Ross of Daytona Beach.
The 11 Florida inmates are among a total of 61 federal prisoners whose sentences were shortened.
