The gloves are off in the Senate District 17 race.
The Accomplished Conservative Leaders Fund rolled out a new website Tuesday to point out Debbie Mayfield’s record and hold the Vero Beach Republican — and an electioneering committee aligned with Mayfield — accountable.
“Debbie Mayfield’s deception about her record is well documented on this website,” said David Bishop, a spokesman for The Accomplished Conservative Leaders Fund. “As we approach the upcoming Republican Primary in the Senate District 17 race, it’s vital that voters get Mayfield’s full record before casting their ballots.”
The website, according to the committee, focuses on several areas, including her voting record and personal loans to her campaign.
State records show The Accomplished Conservative Leaders Fund, an electioneering communications organization, is not affiliated with a particular candidate or organization. The group has received $350,000 — the bulk of its contributions — from Citizens United for Liberty and Freedom, Rep. Ritch Workman’s political committee.
Workman and Mayfield are locked into a tough primary in Senate District 17. The two state lawmakers will face off in the Aug. 30 Republican primary.
