Florida courts closing as Hermine approaches

The Florida Supreme Court on Thursday announced court closures because of Tropical Storm Hermine:

Alachua County: Courts closed all day Friday.

Baker County: Courts closed all day Friday.

Bradford County: Courts closed all day Friday.

Clay County: Courts closed noon Thursday and will remain closed Friday.

Columbia County: Courts closed all day Friday.

Dixie County: Courts closed noon Thursday and will remain closed on Friday.

Duval County: Courts closed noon Thursday and will remain closed Friday.

Flagler County: The county “is closing all courthouses and cancelling all court proceedings scheduled for the remainder of the day, effective at noon. Because Judge Smith’s investiture is a court proceeding, it also has been cancelled and will be rescheduled. First Appearance hearings scheduled for this afternoon will be conducted tomorrow. We are NOT closed tomorrow and all court proceedings will proceed normally tomorrow.”

Franklin County: Courts closed noon Thursday and all day Friday.

Gadsden County: Courts closed noon Thursday and all day Friday.

Gilchrist County: Courts closed on Thursday and Friday.

Gulf County: Courts closed at noon on Thursday.

Hamilton County: Courts will be closed Friday.

Hillsborough County: Courts will close on Thursday.

Jefferson County: Courts closed noon Thursday and all day Friday.

Lafayette County: Courts closed all day on Thursday and will remain closed on Friday.

Leon County: Courts closed at noon Thursday and all day Friday.

Levy County: Courts in Levy County for Thursday and Friday.

Liberty County: Courts closed noon Thursday and all day Friday.

Madison County: Courts closed all day Friday.

Manatee County: Courts closed Thursday.

Nassau County: Courts will close all day Friday.

Pinellas County: Courts will close on Thursday. “The courthouses in Pinellas County are expected to reopen on Friday, Sept. 2, but please continue to check the court’s website for updates. You may also check the court’s Facebook page, or call 727-464-4470. If you are a juror in Pinellas County, you should call 727-464-6008 to determine the status of your jury service.”

Putnam County: Closing all courthouses and canceling all court proceedings after noon on Thursday. “Because Judge Smith’s Investiture is a court proceeding, it has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled. First Appearance hearings scheduled for this afternoon will be conducted tomorrow. We are NOT closed tomorrow and all court proceedings will proceed normally tomorrow.”

St. Johns County: Closing all courthouses and canceling all court proceedings for Thursday. “Because Judge Smith’s Investiture is a court proceeding, it has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled. First Appearance hearings scheduled for this afternoon will be conducted tomorrow. We are NOT closed tomorrow and all court proceedings will proceed normally tomorrow.”

Suwannee County: Courts closed all day Friday.

Taylor County: Courts closed all day on Thursday and will remain closed on Friday.

Union County: Courts will close all day Friday.

Volusia County: Closing all courthouses and canceling all court proceedings scheduled for Thursday. “Because Judge Smith’s Investiture is a court proceeding, it has also been cancelled and will be rescheduled. First Appearance hearings scheduled for this afternoon will be conducted tomorrow. We are NOT closed tomorrow and all court proceedings will proceed normally tomorrow.”

Wakulla County: Courts closed at noon Thursday and all day Friday.

The 1st District Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court closed at noon Thursday through Friday.
