Rep. Kathleen Passidomo will face just one write-in opponent come Election Day.
MaryKathryn Johnson, who filed to run as a write-in candidate in Senate District 28, filed a letter withdrawing her candidacy with the Florida Division of Elections. In the letter, Johnson informed elections officials she needed to be dropped from the election “effective immediately.”
Passidomo defeated Rep. Matt Hudson, a Naples Republican, in the Aug. 30 primary. She was backed by the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the National Federation of Independent Business, and the Florida Medical Association.
According to LobbyTools, Passidomo will only face Raymond Mazzie, another write-in candidate, in the Nov. 8 general election.
