In another example of the Alvin Brown campaign’s recalibration ahead of the May 19 election, fundraiser Greg Goddard is moving on to a different role in the campaign, according to Joshua Karp, Communications Director of the Florida Democratic Party.
Goddard is “transitioning to a smaller role in the campaign” and “moving on to seek other opportunities,” Karp told Florida Politics on Friday, with political strategist Ben Pollara assuming the fundraising responsibilities.
Pollara’s résumé includes being executive director of United For Care, the advocacy group that pushed for the medical marijuana referendum on the 2014 state ballot.
“After an election, headed into the next, this kind of thing is normal,” Karp said.
Karp had nothing but positive things to say about Goddard’s tenure.
“Fundraising was great,” he said, adding that they raised a record amount of money.
“I can’t say enough good things about Greg.”
Goddard is the second major personnel move in the past week. Fabien Levy, the deputy campaign manager, moved on in what was described as an “amicable” parting.
