As Jeb Bush enters race, American Bridge ad blasts ‘botched’ campaign

As Jeb Bush ends months of speculation on Monday by announcing a 2016 White House run, American Bridge 21st Century shoots back with a new digital ad claiming the former governor botched his campaign before it even began.

In the 90-second spot – “Jeb Bush 2016: ‘Mission Accomplished’”– the progressive organization focuses on a series of “failures” of the burgeoning campaign.

Bush, according to the clip, couldn’t scare off potential challengers and his campaign has been plagued by reports of staff infighting and discord, eventually leading to the surprise naming of GOP operative Danny Diaz as campaign manager.

“His ‘plan’ to clear the field with outmatched fundraising and establishment support has failed miserably,” says an American Bridge statement. “What started with predictions of ‘shock and awe’ has quickly devolved into a mismanaged mess.”

The only person who would even consider the roll-out as “mission accomplished,” they add, is his older brother – former President George W. Bush – a jab at the infamous 2003 announcement on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln of an end to major combat operations in Iraq.

The video is filled with a number of pundits claiming the Jeb Bush campaign, a week before the planned announcement, is “in trouble” and how Republicans are skeptical of “naming another Bush.”

“Bush’s lackluster performance only reinforced the general impression that the campaign fizzled,” the ad concludes.

“Mission Impossible” is now available on YouTube.
