Bad news for Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio in a Tuesday Public Policy Polling poll taken in New Hampshire.
Bush languishes at 7 percent, tied for fourth with Scott Walker. Rubio fares even worse, at 4 percent, tied with Chris Christie and the rapidly fading Ted Cruz.
Atop the poll? Donald Trump, laps the field at 35 percent. He is 24 points ahead of John Kasich.
In a head-to-head against Trump, Bush trails 56 to 33. He is also underwater in terms of favorability.
“Bush is really struggling. Only 38 percent of primary voters have a favorable opinion of him to 41 percent with a negative one. This is largely a function of his unpopularity with conservatives — among voters who identify themselves as ‘very conservative’ just 34 percent have a positive opinion of him to 48 percent who have a negative one. Only 3 percent say he’s their first choice for the nomination, putting him in a tie for 8th place with that group,” the PPP narrative contends.
Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, Bernard Sanders leads Hillary Clinton, 42 to 35 percent.
