College Professor George Collins has filed to run in Florida House District 50, setting up a Republican primary with District 49 State Representative Rene Plasencia, according to the East Orlando Post.

This will be the second time Collins will be running for the seat that consists of parts of Orange and Brevard counties. In 2014, he unsuccessfully challenge incumbent Tom Goodson.

Goodson has since decided to run in District 51 to succeed House Speaker Steve Crisafulli, allowing Plasencia to leave the left-leaning 49th District to run in the more conservative 50th District.

In 2014, Collins loaned his campaign $80,000 to challenge an Republican incumbent, he’ll likely have to self-finance his operation once again with the state party likely to support Plasencia.

On the Democratic side, educator Sean Ashby has filed to run and officially kicked off his campaign last month.
