Just reading Chelsi Henry‘s online biography can you make you out of breath, realizing all she’s accomplished at the age of 27.
She’s a lawyer (Florida Coastal School of Law, 2013) as well as “entrepreneur, columnist, political strategist, motivational speaker, and business consultant,” her website says.
Add to that government official. She’s a former supervisor of the Duval Soil and Water Conservation District, and is the first Republican in her family. Henry also says she was the youngest woman elected to office in Jacksonville’s history.
She contributes to NewsMax and TheRoot.com, and is the first conservative contributor to EBONY.com.
Have we mentioned she just launched her own book club? Henry now is based in Tallahassee, where she runs her own consulting business.
Here’s Henry in her own words:
I am … often told that I am 27 going on 40.
I live in … “Mount” Tallahassee.
I got into politics … because I wanted to be a voice for the voiceless.
One principle I always put above politics is … integrity. I take people at their word and expect them to take me at mine.
Person or people who gave me my first shot … CFO Jeff Atwater and Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry. I am and always will be grateful for their support and mentorship.
I’ve already worked for/on (campaign, issues, etc.) … Sen. Marco Rubio‘s 2010 senate campaign and Gov. Rick Scott‘s first election. I also ran my own campaign and was elected as Soil and Water Conservation District 5 Commissioner (Jacksonville).
When I begin a project or first work on a campaign, I look for … passion, competence, and people who will do the right thing.
I’ve been blessed to have these people as my mentors … Cynthia Henderson, Lyn & Kevin Stanfield, Cory Tilley, and Shannon Reeves.
The people I most admire in politics are … CFO Jeff Atwater, Al Cardenas, and Sally Bradshaw.
One lesson I’ve already learned is … Be humble, be kind, be confident, and be yourself!
If I wasn’t working in politics, I’d be … in the pulpit as pastor of a mega-church in Jacksonville.
In 10 years, you’ll read about me … helping to make Florida a better place.
