State Attorney hopeful Wes White submits petitions at Duval SOE

Though 4th District State Attorney candidate Wes White is losing the fundraising race to incumbent Angela Corey, his campaign continues. And on Wednesday morning, White made the first of three stops to drop off petitions at Supervisor of Elections offices at the Duval County SOE.

Later on Wednesday, White will make similar stops in Clay and Nassau Counties at their SOE offices.

“The response of the voters while we were out gathering these signatures was overwhelmingly positive,” said White. “In fact, only four people refused to sign a ballot petition and Ms. Corey was one of them.”

In fact, White adds, Corey had a distinctly negative reaction when White’s wife asked the State Attorney to sign a petition at a recent GOP Women networking event.

White claims to have 130 percent of the 7,441 petitions necessary to qualify for the ballot. He presented 7,003 in Duval County, and will submit 1,500 in Clay and 700 in Nassau, leaving 500 in reserve.

White notes that, beyond this ballot access, he scored another victory, with Judge Tyrie Boyer granting him permission to depose Corey and other employees of the State Attorney’s Office in the case of Ben Kruidbos.

Meanwhile, White hints at a potential high-profile endorsement in the weeks ahead.
