Rep. Matt Caldwell raised more than $18,000 toward his re-election campaign in December, boosting his fundraising totals to more than $135,000 since September 2014.
The sum is significant since Caldwell and three other Lee County lawmakers are currently running unopposed.
Campaign finance reports, due to the state’s Division of Elections on Monday, show Caldwell raised $18,050 during the month of December. Big checks include $1,000 from South Florida Industries, Inc., Closter Farms, and GLC Farms. He also received $500 donations from ABC of Florida PAC, Florida Phosphate PAC and Allstate Insurance Company.
He spent $12,920 in December. That sum included $3,761 for holiday card direct mailing and $4,280 to the same firm to buy radio airtime.
All told, campaign finance records show Caldwell has spent more than $64,000 since September 2014.
Caldwell is one of four Lee County incumbents currently running for re-election unopposed.
Rep. Heather Fitzenhagen raised $4,100 toward her re-election bid in December, bringing her fundraising haul to $107,900 since January 2015. The Fort Myers Republican received a $1,000 donation from NBC Universal Media LLC.
Fitzenhagen spent $6,173 during the one month period. Since January 2015, Fitzenhagen has spent $59,679.
Rep. Ray Rodrigues raised $7,250 in December, bringing his total funds raised to $71,200. Several organizations, including Marathon Petroleum and Florida Film PAC, gave Rodrigues $1,000 donations.
Rodrigues spent $7,555 during the one-month time period, including $5,300 for designing, printing and mailing Christmas cards. The Estero Republican has spent $38,567 since November 2014.
In December, Rep. Dane Eagle raised $3,800, bringing his fundraising totals to $56,261. He spent $7,074, including $4,306 for Christmas card mailings, in December. He’s spent a total of $43,719 since November 2014, campaign finance records show.[divider style = “1,2,3,4,5”][/divider]
