Marco Rubio is out with a new video touting his conservative credentials ahead of Thursday night’s Republican debate.
The video — called “The Conservative Choice for President” — is meant to highlight Rubio’s conservative ratings. The ad features Glenn Beck and conservative political commentator Tomi Lahren singing Rubio’s praises.
“So here it is. I picked Marco Rubio for president,” the 30-second video features Lahren saying. “Here’s why: Rubio is young, tenacious, well-spoken and, most importantly, he can actually win.”
Rubio trails Donald Trump and Ted Cruz in national polls with 11.3 percent, according to national polling averages compiled by RealClearPolitics. Trump leads the field with 35 percent.
In Iowa, Rubio is in third place with 11.9 percent, according to RealClearPolitics. He’s in second place in New Hampshire, with 13.2 percent, trailing only Trump in the Granite State.
In South Carolina, where Thursday’s Republican debate will be held, Rubio is at 12 percent, according to RealClearPolitics.
The first GOP debate of 2016 will air on Fox Business Network.
