Signs alerting people about human trafficking would have to be placed in strip clubs, massage studios, airports, highway rest areas, hospitals, farms and other locations under a bill that passed the Florida Senate.
The Senate unanimously passed the bill (HB 369) Wednesday and sent it back to the House, which previously passed a different version.
The signs provide a telephone number people can call if they or someone they know are being enslaved as prostitutes, farm workers, housekeepers or restaurant, retail or factory workers.
The bill would take effect Jan. 1.
