Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has announced a campaign called OneOrlando to help respond to the needs of the community both now and in the future, after the Pulse nightclub tragedy over the weekend.

The fund will support nonprofits helping victims and families, the LGBTQ, Hispanic, faith and other affected communities, finding the underlying causes of the shooting and any other needs, according to an email from Dyer on Tuesday afternoon.

So far, several huge donations have already bolstered the fund: Walt Disney Company donated $1 million, Darden Restaurants donated $500,000, The Orlando Magic donated $100,000, Jet Blue donated $100,000, and Mears donated $50,000.

Also, donations from Disney employees will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Disney Employee Matching Gifts, the news release states.

The fund is a project of Strengthen Orlando Inc, a 501(c)3 nonprofit created for projects that do what it says on the tin — help the City Beautiful. The Central Florida Foundation will handle the distribution of funds.

Those who wish to contribute can visit the website, or send checks to One Orlando, P.O. Box 4990, Orlando, FL 32802-4990.
