Another Grayson is running for election.
Star Grayson, U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson‘s 17-year-old daughter, has filed to run for the District 1 seat in Orange County’s Soil and Water Conservation District. The younger Grayson, a Democrat like her father and stepmother Dena Grayson, will turn 18 in November, before the Nov. 8 election.
Star Grayson was not available Friday morning to discuss her candidacy.
U.S. Rep. Grayson is running in the Aug. 30 Democratic primary for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat.
His new wife, Dena Grayson, is running in the Aug. 30 Democratic primary for Florida’s 9th Congressional District, the seat currently occupied by her husband and Star Grayson’s father. Alan and Dena were married in May.
Star Grayson, who filed and qualified Friday morning, enters a race that also has two other candidates, Michael Barber and Maria Bolton-Joubert, both of Orlando. Grayson is from Windermere.
She was a member last year of the Olympia High School National Honor Society, according to her Facebook page.
