Matt Hudson criticizes Barack Obama in first SD 28 advertisement

Matt Hudson is taking aim President Barack Obama in a new television advertisement.

The 30-second spot — called “The Right Call” — was released Wednesday in response to the attack on an Orlando nightclub, according to his campaign. The advertisement criticizes Obama for playing “politics with gun control.”

“It’s shameful,” he says in the ad. “Here’s my message to the president and his liberal pals: Enforce the laws we have, seal our borders, stop illegal immigration and give our military everything it needs to defeat ISIS.”

Hudson, who is running for the state Senate in District 28, then goes on to say the “problem is not guns, but radical Islamic terrorism.”

Hudson is referring to the deadly mass shooting at an Orlando gay nightclub that left 49 people dead and more than 50 people injured. The shooter reportedly pledged allegiance to ISIS during a 911 call.

Hudson faces Kathleen Passidomo, a Naples Republican, in the Senate District 28 race. The advertisement marks Hudson’s first advertisement this election cycle. Passidomo released her first advertisement earlier this month.
