Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine, up with new Spanish-language ads in Florida

Hillary Clinton TV commercial

The Hillary Clinton campaign is releasing a new Spanish-language TV commercial, and a new radio commercial that features her running mate U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine speaking in Spanish.

The 60-second radio spot, “Invitación” (“Invitation”) is being aired in Florida, Ohio, and Nevada, starting this week. It features Kaine, of Virginia, talking about how he learned, during missionary work in Honduras, about the importance of family values in the Latino culture.

He then says Democratic presidential nominee Clinton invited him to join the campaign and, together, they are inviting Latinos to join them and raise their voices and vote for Clinton.

In between his comments, a narrator criticizes Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as someone who has been hostile to Latinos, contrasting his record with hers.

The 30-second TV spot, “Dependent de Nosotros” (“For Those Who Depend On Us”), is airing in Florida and Nevada. In it, a narrator declares in Spanish that “We work for people who depend on us,” and that Clinton understands that, and has spent her entire career working for families and children.

The commercial then lays out four points in Clinton’s platform — her plans for free universal pre-kindergarten, for college tuition programs, for family leave, and for women to be able to take time off after childbirth. The narrator concludes by saying Clinton wants to build an economy “for all of us.”
