Debbie Mucarsel-Powell outraised Anitere Flores in the first part of September, but Flores continues to hold a significant fundraising lead over the Pinecrest Democrat in Senate District 39.
Records show Mucarsel-Powell raised a combined $25,440 — $17,440 in her official campaign account and $8,000 to her political committee — between Sept. 3 and Sept. 16. Flores raised a combined $11,925 — $5,925 to her official campaign and $6,000 to her political committee — during the same time period.
Records show Flores received a significant amount of help from the Florida Republican Senatorial Committee during the two-week fundraising period. She received $47,585 worth of in-kind contributions from the committee, which is tasked with helping elect Republicans to the Florida Senate. That sum includes $45,085 for polling.
Other contributions to Flores’ campaign during the two-week period included $1,000 each from Pepisco, Health Network One, and HN1 Therapy Network.
Her campaign spent $111,021 between Sept. 3 and Sept. 16, including $60,225 for a media buy.
All told, her campaign has raised $976,893. She ended the fundraising period with $237,783 in her official campaign account.
Floridians for Strong Leadership, the political committee backing Flores, raised $6,000 during the same two-week period. It spent no money during the two-week period. The committee has raised $943,727, and had $306,037 cash on hand as of Sept. 16.
Records show Mucarsel-Powell raised $17,440 for her official campaign between Sept. 3 and Sept. 16. She received $1,064 worth of in-kind contributions from the Florida Democratic Party. That in-kind contribution, records show, was for campaign staff.
The campaign has raised $118,790 since June, when Mucarsel-Powell jumped in the race. It had $111,965 at the end of the fundraising period.
Together for a Better Florida, Mucarsel-Powell’s political committee, raised $8,000 in the same time period. It has brought in $8,050 since it was created in July, and had $8,001 cash on hand as of Sept. 16.
The newly District 39 seat leans Democratic, and includes Monroe County and parts of Miami-Dade County.
