University of South Florida Foundation CEO Joel Momberg is resigning his position, he announced in an email Friday.
“It is with a full heart and a touch of sadness that I make the following announcement today,” he wrote to faculty and staff.
Momberg’s retirement is effective Oct. 31, he said.
“I have had the privilege of leading two great organizations, USF Foundation and All Children’s Hospital Foundation for more than forty years,” he wrote. “At this point in my life, I feel it is time to step aside and allow others the same privilege.”
Momberg thanked supporters who have “created a legacy of philanthropy” at the university, his colleagues “who have been incredible partners throughout the years” and Foundation staff and administration.
He called them “the BEST (emphasis his) you will find in any institution.”
The USF Foundation is the school’s fundraising arm. A request for additional information from USF is pending.
