Stephen Swindal reappointed to Port Tampa Bay

His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.

Gov. Ron DeSantis reappointed Stephen Swindal to the Port Tampa Bay Governing Board Thursday.

Swindal currently serves as the board’s chair.

Swindal owns Marine Towing of Tampa as well as Pan American Sports Group, a baseball academy in the Dominican Republic that trains hopeful Major League Baseball players. 

He formerly served as the CEO of Bay Transportation and worked with the New York Yankees Partnership Team for more than ten years.

His reappointment is for a four year term. It is subject to Senate confirmation.

Port Tampa Bay is Florida’s largest port and manages more than 37 million tons of cargo per year. It also serves as a major port for domestic and international cruises.
