Joe Gruters: Ron DeSantis is facing coronavirus with smart solutions
Slow and low, that is the tempo: Unemployment starting to be paid out, Gov. said Monday

Ron DeSantis
DeSantis and other Florida leaders have been “very aggressive in trying to get things and they're doing a very good job."

Gov. Ron DeSantis has led an aggressive, effective response to the coronavirus crisis.

DeSantis is meeting the spread of the virus on multiple fronts with precision and creativity. He has instituted travel restrictions from coronavirus hot spots like New York, New Jersey, and Louisiana. He has allowed different jurisdictions across the state to enact stay-at-home policies which they feel best match their own circumstances. He has waived the waiting period for retired law enforcement and health care personnel to return to work against the virus. He has encouraged Floridians to follow CDC guidelines at every turn and overseen the establishment of multiple high-capacity testing sites across the state.

Perhaps no action of DeSantis’ will prove as important as his latest success on our behalf: Florida has secured 100% of its requests for federal medical equipment. This means masks, ventilators, drugs — this means saving Floridian lives. He has successfully fought for these resources because he is a relentless and effective advocate for our state.

President Donald Trump himself, when asked about Florida’s obtaining these crucial supplies, said that Gov. DeSantis and other Florida leaders have been “very aggressive in trying to get things and they’re doing a very good job.”

I feel safe knowing that DeSantis is facing the coronavirus with smart solutions that put our health and safety first. His ability to work closely with Trump will supply our heroic health care workers with the tools they need to fight this virus, and save the lives of Floridians.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

When we as a State and Nation are not back to work in months and still dealing with the Covid-19 Crisis due to lack of action by Governor and our President, that instead of leading, respond with blame, they are going to face a huge amount of angry voters.
We are lacking in efficient testing, we need requirements of masks worn when leaving home for necessities, and the States unemployment website running just to start.

    Joe,
Stop telling bold faced lies to Floridians.  The Governor has done some good things, but no one could say that he has been aggressive with a straight face.  He has done a great job being Trump’s toady and saying nice things about Donald Trump’s horribly inept response.  It did work in this case because saying nice things about Trump is the only criteria the President has for granting request.  In truth, Trump has no idea what the Governor has done because he just doesn’t give a damn about anything except Donald Trump.

Smallest goober supports delayed-reaction moderate goober who benefits over the more prepared by consistent puckering to largest goober.

    Yup! 21,300.000.00 ÷ 27,000 ÷ 0.25% = Death ratio.

This is why an entire State is committing mass economic suicide?

People dying in states where trump doesn’t like the governor. Trump knows he needs Florida to win in November and will give Florida all they want because he wants our vote. Trump caused lot of Americans to die and we won’t forget in November.

Mr. Gruters your party spent the past 40 years warring against big government, dismantling the safety net, even now in the Supreme Court to strip away insurance coverage and protection for pre-existing conditions coverage. Your pep talk for the governor, complete with bootlicking and slobbering (Trump likes him, that’s why Florida got what it needs) is a stark reminder of the kind of president we have, who would by your account play favorites during a national emergency.
