The Florida Retail Federation (FRF) today announced it is endorsing Mike Davis in the upcoming special election for Florida House District 17.
“We are proud to endorse Mike Davis for the Florida House. As a business owner, he will use his experience to help Florida create jobs,” said FRF Director of Government Affairs Melissa Joiner Ramba, who manages FRF’s political activities. “Mike Davis is committed to helping our small retailers grow their businesses, and he will have a positive impact on the retail industry, one of Florida’s top job creators.”
Ponte Vedra Beach Republican state Rep. Ron “Doc” Renuart currently represents District 17, which covers St. Augustine up to the southern border of Duval County. Renuart is resigning the seat to campaign for former state Sen. John Thrasher’s Senate District 6 after he left to become Florida State University president.
The HD 17 GOP special primary is Jan. 27, with the general election on April 7.
