Floridians love to drink. So do many of the nearly 100 million tourists who visit the state each year.
With more than 20,000 places to grab a beer, wine or cocktail in the Sunshine State, how do you find the best of the best?
A new partnership between Extensive Enterprises and Florida Bar Tab will give that guidance.
Extensive Enterprises is the publisher of new media outlets SaintPetersBlog, Sunburn, Context Florida, The Politics of Pot and the recently launched Florida Politics.
Florida Bar Tab is the internationally recognized website and social media persona created by award-winning Florida political reporter Brendan Farrington.
In the Sunshine State, bars are big business, and only getting bigger.
Florida Bar Tab casts an eye on the state’s myriad drinking establishments, identifying what makes them truly exceptional: craft beer breweries, cocktail lounges, taprooms, beach bars and dives, as well as updates on issues affecting the industry.
Collaborating with Florida Bar Tab represents a new, deeper aspect of covering the state’s drinking culture — all the players and trends — as well as reviews of the more distinctive places statewide to grab a drink. EEM’s reporters, who have been known to enjoy an adult beverage when they’re not covering politics, will be contributing to Florida Bar Tab.
“Florida has amazing bars, from the luxurious Seafood Bar in Palm Beach, where live fish swim beneath your cocktails, to The Last Resort, a biker bar near Daytona Beach where serial killer Aileen Wuornos had her last beer,” Farrington said. “I look forward to working with Extensive Enterprises to help people explore Florida’s most interesting watering holes.”
“We are excited to be a part of Florida Bar Tab,” Extensive Enterprises Media president Peter Schorsch said. “It gives us an opportunity to provide a unique perspective on one of Florida’s most iconic industries.”
Consider this: The beverage alcohol industry stands at $200 billion, and collects more than $55 billion annually in federal, state and local taxes with almost $933 million of those taxes going to the state of Florida every year.
The ambition of Florida Bar Tab is to help everyone — from connoisseurs to the average consumer – discover the art of Florida drinking and in their search for the next great imbibing experience.
