Sen. Doug Broxson is endorsing Sam Parker for re-election to the District 1 seat on the Santa Rosa County Commission.
An experienced businessman and Pensacola native, Broxson was first elected to serve the Florida Panhandle in the House in 2010. He ascended to the Senate in 2016 and served as the chamber’s Budget Chief for the past two Sessions.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Sam Parker on several occasions to address local issues important to the Santa Rosa County community,” Broxson said. “Every time, Sam approached the situation with common sense and a resolve to best serve the interests of the county.
“He has done an incredible job supporting our law enforcement, promoting smart growth, and bringing in more high-paying jobs for residents. Sam will continue this good work if re-elected to serve District 1 on the County Commission, and I’m honored to offer him my wholehearted support and endorsement.”
Parker responded, “I’m honored to have Sen. Doug Broxson’s endorsement in my race for re-election. The Senator has faithfully served our Florida Panhandle communities for over a decade with the utmost integrity and strength.
“We’re grateful for everything he’s done for Santa Rosa County in Tallahassee. It has been a privilege to stand alongside him and Gov. Ron DeSantis in the vital fight for freedom and our founding principles, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue my work to improve the quality of life for all Santa Rosa citizens through common sense, conservative leadership.”
Parker was first elected in 2016 to serve District 1 on the Santa Rosa County Commission. Before taking public office, he served as a corrections officer at the Santa Rosa Correctional Institution and as a deputy sheriff with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office for nearly a decade. Parker is a small business owner who holds a federal firearms license, a real estate broker license, and a residential contractor license.
He received a master’s degree in public administration from Troy University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of West Florida.
