Jeb Bush, in the most significant move yet towards a run in the key early primary state of New Hampshire, hired senior GOP adviser Rich Killion for his Right to Rise PAC. Killion becomes the first Right to Rise staffer to join the campaign in the Granite State.
Spokeswoman Kristy Campbell tells the Tampa Bay Times that Bush will visit the state on March 13 and 14.
Killion, a well-regarded New Hampshire consultant, has worked on a variety of GOP presidential campaigns. During the 2008 primary, Killion advised former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. He also was a consultant to former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty in his short-lived 2012 bid.
Killion also worked with New Hampshire state Senate President Chuck Morse and former gubernatorial candidate John Stephen.
In a statement, Killion endorsed the former governor’s track record of “making conservative principles work for millions of Floridians,” his “optimistic vision” and passion to remove barriers preventing upward mobility.
Bush has a “message that needs to be heard in every corner of the Granite State,” Killion said.
