Florida’s Governor continues to recommend his Surgeon General for yet another job in the Donald Trump administration.
Gov. Ron DeSantis believes Dr. Joseph Ladapo would be a “change agent,” would make Make America Healthy Again “more than a slogan,” and has the “courage and determination to do what’s right when it’s not easy.”
That comes as part of DeSantis’ pitch, which began earlier this month, that Ladapo would be a “fantastic selection” to helm the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The recommendations are timely, as former U.S. Rep. Dave Weldon did not move forward in the process due to insufficient support from Senate Republicans.
(Incidentally, CBS News reports Weldon likes Ladapo for the job, though with the caveat that getting past pro-vaccine Republican U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy in committee involves not opposing childhood vaccines. Ladapo bucked COVID vaccine rules from the feds during the Joe Biden era, and more recently has offered cautions about flu and measles shots.)
Of course, DeSantis has done this before. He pushed for Ladapo’s nomination for the head of the Department of Health and Human Services before Robert Kennedy Jr. was nominated.
In turn, Ladapo campaigned for DeSantis during the last presidential race, and has strongly suggested he wants First Lady Casey DeSantis to be Governor more recently.
Ladapo, who is the second Surgeon General under the DeSantis administration and is also a Professor of Medicine at the University of Florida, has been vocal about vaccines and their side effects, among other issues, since he took over for Scott Rivkees during the pandemic.
There is the chance that the public floating of Ladapo’s name is a way for enemies of the Governor’s within Trump World to sink the nomination.
We saw a version of this earlier this year when DeSantis himself was floated as Defense Secretary amid reputational troubles for Pete Hegseth. Ultimately, Hegseth survived, but not before a series of reports painted DeSantis as a job hopper with no internal support in the administration.

Sounds like buyers remorse.
Last report I read indicated Lapado does not show up at UF yet he pulls some $600k annual grift (salary +). He’s peddling bad science. Other reports indicate the DeSanti fully vaccinated their own kids. In other words, the governor is willing to risk other lives and health just to throw red meat to the MAGA hats.

After four years of lies and suppositions having a Dr that actually studies science instead of saying He is science would be refreshing. Politics has no place in public health. Science is rarely settled but one thing We know for sure is that FAUCI was covering His ass and making millions. We are finally in a place where the truth is being told. Dr Lapedo is a strong man that is willing to speak His mind while internet creeps and the pharma funded establishment is taking pot shots at Him.

Actually no scientists around the world have the same opinion. Only the pharma funded labs are taking exception to His findings. Research is an ugly world where so many phoney papers are being rescinded. Look at European scientists that are telling the truth about food and pharma.

Actually taking microbiology and anatomy and physiology instead of getting your info of of Fakebook would go a long way to correcting your ill informed opinions. There are NOT “many phoney papers” being rescinded. Research papers are peer reviewed and you can lose your license and job if you consistently provide bogus facts. That’s one of the reasons notorious anti-vax/ant-facts Andrew Wakefield lost his. He does make a good living “consulting” at an anti-vax clinic in Houston. It’s almost like he wanted money more than keeping children alive.
