President Donald Trump has pulled Dr. Janette Nesheiwat’s nomination for Surgeon General. Instead, he will name Dr. Casey Means to the role.

Trump said Nesheiwat will be picked for a different position working for Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., who said he “looks forward to working with Dr. Janette Nesheiwat in another capacity at HHS.”

The decision came a day after Florida-based social media influencer Laura Loomer criticized Nesheiwat for promoting vaccines. Nesheiwat, a Umatilla High School graduate, was nominated for Surgeon General in November. She is best known as a medical contributor for Fox News.

“I know Donald Trump likes people who go on TV for some weird reason I will never understand (I still love him), but we can’t have a pro-COVID vaccine nepo appointee who is currently embroiled in a medical malpractice case and who didn’t go to medical school in the U.S. as the U.S. Surgeon General,” Loomer posted. “She is now being accused of lying about her medical credentials.”

Loomer already repeated widely debunked theories that vaccines cause autism, a belief repeatedly espoused by Kennedy.

Nesheiwat served as a medical director for CityMD, an urgent care provider. Her brother-in-law, former U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz of St. Augustine Beach, was recently removed as White House National Security Adviser but then nominated by Trump as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Trump said in a Truth Social post that he trusts Means, a holistic doctor who authored the book “Good Energy,” to work closely with Kennedy on implementing a “Make America Healthy Again” agenda.

“Casey has impeccable ‘MAHA’ credentials, and will work closely with our wonderful Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to ensure a successful implementation of our Agenda in order to reverse the Chronic Disease Epidemic, and ensure Great Health, in the future, for ALL Americans,” Trump posted.

“Her academic achievements, together with her life’s work, are absolutely outstanding. Dr. Casey Means has the potential to be one of the finest Surgeon Generals in United States History.”
