Whip out those checkbooks, Tallahassee lobbyists and PAC chairs, as the week kicks off with a handful of legislative re-election fundraisers.
This will be the last full week of fundraisers for a while, as Florida law prohibits legislators raising campaign cash during session, which begins Tuesday, March 3.
On Tuesday, Jeb Bush brings his all-but-certain presidential campaign to Tampa Bay, in the form of a high-profile fundraiser supporting the Right to Rise Super PAC. The $1,000-a-ticket event is set for Tuesday at the Grand Hyatt, 2900 Bayport Drive. The VIP Reception begins at 5 p.m.; general reception starts at 5:30 p.m.
Republican State Rep. Greg Steube hosts a Sarasota fundraiser in support of his re-election campaign for House District 73. The event is Tuesday from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Siesta Key Rum Tasting Room, 2212 Industrial Blvd. in Sarasota. Meanwhile, also on Tuesday, the independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan Broward Days’ holds its Tallahassee Trip Kickoff and Legislative Preview reception from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Riverside Hotel Las Olas, 620 East Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. Hosts are Republican state Reps. Erik Fresen and Democratic House Minority Leader Mark Pafford. Broward Days advocates for the citizens of Broward County. RSVPs are available online.
Republican state Rep. Heather Fitzenhagen will be fundraising in Fort Myers on Wednesday to support her House District 78 re-election bid.
