Nine days after he acknowledged that he wouldn’t be a candidate for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in 2016, former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist on Wednesday announced his support for Patrick Murphy for the same seat.

“Patrick Murphy has the energy, integrity, and work ethic we need in the United States Senate,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “I hope you’ll join me in supporting his campaign.”

Whether others in the party will follow suit remains to be seen. Murphy announced his candidacy just 48 hours ago. Liberal firebrand U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson continues to make noises that he’s going to run as well, smashing any thoughts amongst party leaders to avoid a contested primary election.
