Those who know Jacksonville mayoral candidate Lenny Curry know he leaves very little to chance, and that includes enlisting volunteers well ahead of the May 19 runoff election against Mayor Alvin Brown.
In an email sent Thursday, Team Curry lets people know they “are entering the last stretch of our race — a runoff against Mayor Alvin Brown. On May 19th, the next Mayor of Jacksonville will be chosen. We need your help to ensure Team Curry is successful!”
The email continues: “We need volunteers who can help us knock on doors, make phone calls, or wave signs. By signing up to volunteer, you will also get the opportunity to attend events around town, meet new people and work to bring real change to Jacksonville. Join Team Curry today. Sign up to volunteer and let us know how you want to help us get real leadership in City Hall!”
Curry has used volunteer enlistment as a force multiplier, and so far it has paid off. He finished within 4.2 points of Brown in Jacksonville’s First Election on Tuesday, and a poll conducted by St. Pete’s Polls this week shows the former RPOF chairman within 3 points of the first-term Democratic mayor.
