U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy plans a Tampa Bay area visit next week for a meet-and-greet with Democratic faithful to support his newly launched U.S. Senate bid.
The event is set for 4:30 to 6 p.m. on April 10 at Mise en Place, 442 W. Kennedy Blvd.
With U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio’s expected April 13 announcement that he’s running for president in 2016, Murphy immediately will rise to the top tier of Democratic candidates seeking Rubio’s seat.
Scheduled to appear at Murphy’s event are several of the region’s political leaders, including Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, former state CFO Alex Sink, attorney Ben Diamond, Advocacy Group Director Justin Day, Democratic strategist Ana Cruz, former state Senate candidate Judithanne McLauchlin, business executive Mike Hamby, and Patrick Baskette.
Suggested contributions range from $100 to $5,400.
RSVPs are with Baskette at [email protected] or (202) 744-1547.
