When Lauren Book puts her mind to something, it generally seems to turn out pretty well. And with the news that her first children’s book – after only one full week in circulation – has landed in the Publisher’s Weekly Top 25 Children’s Picture Books list, somebody somewhere has to take notice.
So we will.
Being in the Top 25 may not sound like a huge accomplishment, but when you consider that half of the books ahead of “Lauren’s Kingdom” are Easter-related, while four others are re-releases of several Dr. Seuss classics, it’s a pretty heady accomplishment.
So we tip our hat – yes, a cat’s hat – to Ms. Book on this week’s debut at #22.
Oh the places you’ll go, Lauren
Editor’s Note: Remember those days in college when you checked your own music collection against Rolling Stone or the Billboard Top 100 lists? Oh how life has changed … as I write this blog, I can count the number of books that we now own and Michelle has read, and re-read, and re-read, and re-read, and re-read again to my own daughter: “Five Little Pumpkins,” “Good Night God,” “Pete The Cat,” etc. I think I’ll check out “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick.” Wonder how it turns out?
